The wiener dog races at The Four Peaks Oktoberfest are a fan favorite tradition! 

For 2026 we continue the second category so more dogs can get in on the fun.


The "Low Center of Gravity" race category is for non-wiener dogs measuring 12" or shorter from the shoulder that love to race! 


On Saturday and Sunday, come watch these furry fun balls run their hearts out! Cheer on your favorites and celebrate Oktoberfest in proper fashion!  It is the perfect combination of funny and exciting!  Did we mention there will be a Bone Bar?!


Races are Saturday and Sunday in EAST lawn of the park!

Dogs must measure 12 inches or less at the shoulder.
Height will be verified at check-in. Any dog that exceeds this height will be prohibited from entering. This is to ensure the safety of all race participants.
Races will be held on Saturday and Sunday (based on registration day). 

Please select from one of the following race categories: 

Wild Wieners (dachshunds)
Low-Center-of-Gravity (non-dachshunds below 12" @ the shoulder)

Proceeds from registration to support the Arizona Humane Society. 

EVENT RULES:

  • Only dogs that have pre-registered will be able to enter the event and participate. Heats will be assigned closer to the event.
  • This registration fee only covers the cost of the dog.
  • Owners must purchase separate general admission or VIP tickets to enter the park on Saturday.
  • All dogs must be checked-in at the Check-In Tent just outside of the Main Entrance off Rio Salado and Mill Ave.
  • NO AGGRESSIVE DOGS
  • All dogs attending the Pup Festival must have an up-to-date license and proof of Parvo and Rabies vaccinations. Although you don't need to bring the proof with you, it should be accessible within a reasonable time if needed.
  • For safety reasons, retractable leashes are not allowed. Dogs must be kept on a standard leash that is no longer than six feet. Female dogs in heat are not permitted to attend.
  • Event officials reserve the right to refuse entry to any dog that shows signs of aggressive behavior. Please use your best judgment to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
  • Limit one dog per person, all dogs must be registered racers.
  • Puppies that haven't completed their vaccinations should not attend the event; it’s recommended to consult with your veterinarian before bringing them.
